The photographer I picked is Mariette Roodenburg. She is part of the Anderson Gallery in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. She plays with light and shadow to make simple photos interesting. She gets inspired by the feeling of calmness in a place or in a moment. Her photos are very diverse, from urban streets to calming waves, yet allways give you a sense of tranquility.

Collage

For my collage I used different photos to show textures. Each different texture represents a different brick on the wall. I made the pictures translucent so that they would blend in more with the background photo. Instead of using a background photo of just bricks, I decided to use one with a plant which made it more interesting and gave it more texture.

TTC Photo Essay

I chose the TTC for my photo essay because everyone uses it. It's an easy way to get around Toronto especially for teenagers that can't drive. Anyone can use it because it's affordable, more so than cab. It's also accessible at all times of the day.
