For the first image I started with a picture of Obama and used the magnetic lasso tool to select him. I inversed the selection and deleted the background. I selected Obama again and dragged him to a picture of the great wall of china.
For the second image I again used the magnetic lasso tool to select Obama and then created a layer mask. I then filled a new layer with a solid colour and used multiply in the layers palete so you could see the background. Using the airbrush tool i got rid of all the blue halos.
The second image took more time and was more confusing but also looked more realistic because their were no halos. It had way more steps and some of the steps were unnecessary.
